The journalist admitted that in everyday life he often communicates in Russian, however, he uses exclusively Ukrainian abroad.
The famous Ukrainian journalist and blogger Ramina Eskhakzai, who is on vacation in Greece, expressed her anger at the fact that some Ukrainians abroad continue to communicate in Russian.
In particular, on his Instagram page, the journalist said that he witnessed such a situation. He stood in line with two girls, whom he mistook for citizens of the Russian Federation, but during their conversation found out that they were from Kyiv.
The blogger admits that at home in everyday life he himself often switches to Russian, but abroad he communicates exclusively in Ukrainian or English.
“I just stood for 30 minutes near girls who spoke Russian without a Ukrainian accent. I showed contempt with the highest look, twisted my face, thought how to stop myself so as not to say something bad. A Pole stood nearby and turned his face away, exchanging glances with me. But with the words “let’s go to a classy institution” I let go. It’s us, Ukrainian women. You know I’m the one speak Russian at home, but when abroad, only Ukrainian. and English. Even within the framework of my own safety. You can take the overflow standards for Russian,” he wrote.
Therefore, Ramina Eshakzai urged Ukrainians not to be ashamed to speak the state language, even if it is not perfect.
“Don’t hesitate to say something bad. Everything is fine. No one abroad will understand that your Ukrainian is not perfect. The main thing is to speak confidently and don’t get burned with something wrong,” summed up the journalist
