The prototype of the iconic Zaporozhets appeared in 1961. It had a more streamlined design than the production model.
The web showed what the ZAZ-966 should look like. The iconic model had a brighter design to begin with.
As you know, ZAZ-966 appeared in 1967. It looked like a two-door sedan with the engine in the back.
However, the 1961 example had a more streamlined body with a rounded rear window.
It featured a more compact rounded grille and disconnected front headlights like the production model, while the rear featured sharper curves and vertical lights.
The prototype’s side air intakes are more compact and combined with different chrome treatments.
Among the differences are the bumpers, windshield, roof and logos.
