Jamala admitted that her new songs were intercepted in occupied Crimea

The artist admitted that he really wants Ukrainians to return Crimea, because it is our history.

Jamala, a Ukrainian singer of Crimean Tatar origin, who recently presented her new album Qirim, said that the people of Crimea are happy to listen to her songs, but the authorities are blocking her tracks. He said this in an interview Radio Liberty.

“I see how happy this music is. Although it is actively blocked. The Qirim album is blocked in Crimea. And people are afraid to release this music, of course. I understand it. Because every time that it is a risk, because it is not known what this government is capable of” he shared.

The artist also added that the album consists of 14 songs, each representing a specific area of ​​the peninsula.

“For the first time we are talking about our Ukrainian Crimea through songs. In the concept of the album Crimea each song is unique and for the first time tells the story of different cities of Crimea, from Yalta, Sevastopol and Simferopol, to Alushta,” Jamala sums up.
