The outfits are decorated with traditional Borshchiv embroidery. So, the presenter wants to express his respect for Ukraine.
The famous Irish presenter Graham Norton appeared in front of the public in the second semi-final of Eurovision 2023 in a jacket of the Ukrainian brand LUVi, reports NV.
According to the founders of the brand, designers Lyudmila Sedlyar and Victoria Zagrafova, the stylist of the famous presenter Lindsey McLean found the Ukrainian brand on Instagram, and they offered to decorate the jacket with traditional embroidery of Ukrainian.
“Since we work a lot with Ukrainian embroidery, we proposed the trim of the jacket based on Borshchiv embroidery. Among the many options, Mr. Norton’s stylist chose gold-on-black embroidery. To make the pattern shimmer, worked them in lurex thread and beads. They embroidered a semi-cross stitch and combined with gold microglass beads – The work took two embroiderers two weeks,” said the designers.
The clothes are created exclusively online and there is no fitting.
“Communication takes place exclusively online: there are no attachments – instead, there are zoom calls and lots of photos,” said brand representatives.
