British actress Emma Watson, who gained fame playing the role of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films, has spoken about why she left cinema. He said this in an interview with the Financial Times.
So, since he is one of the most profitable actors in Hollywood, the celebrity admitted that in the last years of his career he felt like he was in a cage, because he could not always express his thoughts to the public.
“To be honest, I wasn’t very happy. I think I felt like I was in a cage. It was really hard, because I had to go out and sell something that I really don’t have such when every journalist is allowed ask before showing a film: “Well, how do you think about all this?” which leads to responsibility, and in a way I started to experience great frustration, because I don’t have a voice, I don’t have a voice you.” he says.
At the same time, Emma Watson said that she will return to acting, but is still waiting for a suitable film.
Now, on a hiatus from his acting career, he decided to take up writing scripts and directing.
“I was always told then that I should try directing and producing, even when I was doing Potter. I was worried that it would be something purely technical, not creative, that I wouldn’t be able to show all that, in my opinion, guess mine – my skill set. Being a director seems incomprehensible. I don’t know if I’m sure what to do. But I know it feels weird. I mean I grew up on set,” he concluded.
It was previously reported that actress Christina Applegate, who played Rachel Green’s sister in the cult TV series Friends, has announced her retirement from acting.
