Celebrated this Wednesday, April 19, the Indigenous Peoples Day is dedicated to honoring and recognizing traditions and indigenous peoples. Meet some talents that reinforce this representativeness in national fashion:
Emily Nunes
Of indigenous descent from the Aruans ethnic group, model Emilly Nunes, from WAY Model, worked as a cashier in a supermarket in Pará, and as a salesperson for a telephone company, offering cell phone chips on the streets, until she emerged as a of the names of the moment in fashion.
At the age of 24, the beauty with striking features has already starred on the covers of Vogue Brasil and Portugal, advertisements for prestigious brands such as Lenny Niemeyer, and was featured at São Paulo Fashion Week, where she was among the record holders.
Raised between Belém and the paradisiacal Ilha de Marajó, Emilly followed fashion shows since she was a child, when she wore her mother’s high heels and paraded through the rooms of the house where she lived with her family.

Noah Alef is another bet in Brazilian fashion: the young man of Pataxó and Kariri-Sapuyá descent recently debuted in international fashion and has been using his profession to gain representation.
Born in Jequié, in the interior of Bahia, the 23-year-old model has already won a contract with companies in the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain and Germany.

Luanna Pinheiro
Luanna Pinheiro is another Brazilian name that has been gaining ground: the model of indigenous descent is one of Mix Models’ bets and has already appeared in editorials in some of the most prestigious publications in the segment, such as iD Magazine and Marie Claire USA, among many others, in addition to having starred in campaigns for giants such as Natura, Jack Daniel’s, Mara Hoffman and Accessorize.
Born and raised in downtown Rio de Janeiro, the 31-year-old model entered fashion after being revealed by actress Luana Piovani. “I worked in a beauty salon, as a make-up artist assistant. She approached me and encouraged me to try. She was the one who picked up the phone and called professionals in the area”, recalls the namesake of the actress, who has emerged in international fashion, with works in disputed markets such as New York and London.

Messias Magno debuts in fashion: unveiled in 2022, the 18-year-old is one of JOY Management’s bets. Born in Belém and currently living in Campinas, the man from Pará completed the Administrative Assistant course, which he took in parallel with singing and saxophone classes.
Before emerging as a bet on the catwalks, the model worked as a shopkeeper and delivery man. In his spare time, he divided himself between baking and playing volleyball.
“Marajó is a place that needs more opportunities. I try to pass on to people that we can indeed grow in life”, stated.

From Manaus, the 18-year-old made her debut in fashion in 2021 – and was soon scheduled to make her debut by parading at São Paulo Fashion Week. Recently, she starred on the digital cover of Vogue Brasil.
“When I was younger, I had never seen indigenous or descendant models. I am happy that our beauty is being valued!”, stated.

Dandara Queiroz
Dandara Queiroz is yet another name that stands out: the beauty represented by WAY Model was the record holder for São Paulo Fashion Week, in 2022.
A descendant of the Tupi-Guarani ethnic group, the 24-year-old beauty was born in Araçatuba (SP) and raised in Três Lagoas (MS). A model for two years, she has already worked in Germany and worked for brands such as Animale, Havaianas, Aeropostale, Água de Coco, Cia Marítima and Lenny Niemeyer, as well as editorials for Vogue, Elle and L’Officiel.
Graduated in Architecture and Urbanism, she is also dedicated to making indigenous paintings, poems and compositions, in addition to practicing Muay Thai. Dandara also carries out actions in favor of abandoned animals and the preservation of the environment.
This week, the young woman was national highlight, debuting on television among the protagonists of Falas da Terra – Histórias Impossíveis, from Rede Globo.

From Maranhão, Débora Motta also stands out among the bets: the 19-year-old young woman recently moved to São Paulo, where she is represented by JOY Management.
In 2019, she was seen by scouts and since then she has dedicated herself to training in an artistic career, participating in catwalk and acting courses.
