The dog continues to work on holiday, diligently searching for mines of Russian occupiers on the territory of Ukraine.
A service dog of the Jack Russell Terrier breed from Ukraine, which gained international fame during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Patron dog appeared in the country’s national costume on Vyshyvanka Day. A cute photo was published by the press service.
“Following traditions, our Patron has now replaced his” armor “with an embroidered shirt! It looks cool, what do you think? By the way, no one has canceled work today – we are looking, cleaning mines, working for success! ” – said in the message.

It should be noted that in 2020, the head of the pyrotechnic group of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Chernihiv region, Mikhail Ilyev, bought a dog from a colleague and showed it to his son. At first, they wanted to give him the nickname Bullet, but deemed it unsuccessful.
In six months, cynologists began working at Patron. And he demonstrated the ability of a search dog after the owner took him to work, where they began teaching the animal to recognize explosives by smell.
The patron is not specifically trained as a sapper dog. At first, the owners planned that he would be a show dog.
Shortly before the Russian invasion of Ukraine began, it was planned to send the Patron to the JFO zone as a volunteer dog, but with the outbreak of war, he began to get involved in demining territories in the Chernihiv region.
According to the Office of the President of Ukraine, on May 8, 2022, Patron assisted in the discovery of 236 explosive devices.
In April 2022, he was 2.5 years old. He weighs about four kilograms, meaning he weighs no more than five kilograms, which is also safe for detecting anti-personnel mines.
Recall that the cat Stepan from Kharkov received a prestigious blogging award in France.
