The word hygge, which can be pronounced as “hu-ga”, does not yet have a literal translation into Portuguese. However, the term is understood as a lifestyle that aims to insert well-being, warmth and comfort into routine.

Among Scandinavian countries, the concept is mainly employed by Denmark. It is no wonder that, in 2020, Denmark was considered the second happiest country in the world, according to the UN World Happiness Report (United Nations). The nation was second only to Finland.

However, the owner of Estúdio Sentinello warns that it is necessary to be careful not to mischaracterize the main style chosen, but rather to create harmony between both.

Therefore, professionals recommend the use of candles (including flavored ones), elements with textures, light fixtures with dimmed lightobjects with affective value, soft rugs, cozy blankets and blankets, soft pillows, comfortable sofas and chairs.

So, here in Brazil, care must be taken not to create a ‘hot’ environment, because, for us, comfort can be in the ‘cool’, without losing the pleasure and touch of materials that hygge prioritizes ”, he says he.
