Bungie will raise the bar in the next expansion to surprise those who are tired of the good and well-known formula of recent times
Every three months, we have to do pretty much the same things to enjoy a different story. It’s not a bad formula, it’s just that the game needs freshness to maintain interest. Bungie has already admitted this and warned that these changes will arrive in the year of Lightfall (The Fall of Light), but that they take time to be made.
Before next year’s seasons, we’ll have the new campaign, which will dictate everything else. In Lightfall, we’ll head to the city of Neonuma, hidden from the rest of the universe on Neptune. There will be the first frontal attack of the Witness, the final enemyof this saga.
new powers
The guardians will fight alongside the Nebulars, who are guardians of Neonuma, against the Shadow Legion of Calus, the newest Disciple of the Witness. A campaign will reveal a new power, Weave, a form of Darkness that seems to compose the very fabric of reality and which will be your second subclass of Darkness, alongside Stasis.
New enemy type
The Weave will be used to create a grappling hook in the air to move quickly with energy vines in the great metropolis of Neonuma. Useful against the Tormentors, a new Witness-serving enemy type that should be the enemy strongest common in Destiny so far.
in-game updates
Lightfall will bring general improvements, such as the much requested option to save different groups of equipment and change on the fly, without having to use a application external. This way, you can have your PVE and PVP weapons in two different groups and switch with a simple choice, instead of manually switching everything every time. A new system of finding players to form a group and doing any content together (from Strikes to Raids) should make the game much more agile and social.
