Suspended furniture and unique coatings provide spaciousness to the apartment
With 45 m², the apartment did not suffer structural interference, since the architects used the floor plan delivered by the construction company. To print joviality and relaxation, the choice of materials was fundamental. The apparent brick in the living room and the burnt cement on the floor provided the desired natural atmosphere.
mystery-free lighting
This is an outstanding item and used a practical alternative, so as not to involve break-break: the installation of electrified rails. In addition to dispensing with the need for lining, maintaining the generous height, the equipment allowed the use of spotlights directed to different points of the environment, providing well-distributed and, at the same time, cozy lighting.
kitchen and laundry
As the kitchen and laundry room form a single environment, custom-made joinery was essential. All appliances are fitted into cabinets to make the space more organized. “One trick was to replace the conventional column tank with a built-in model, which resembles a kitchen sink. As a result, a joinery cover can be placed over it when not in use, transforming it into a countertop for the kitchen”, reveal professionals Ana Carolina Boscardin and Edgard Corsi. To complete, black glass inserts contrast with the white joinery and leave the laundry space delimited and with a relaxed touch.
Living room
The architects’ solution for the social area was employ furniture suspended from the floor, to ensure a feeling of lightness and continuity. Linear, the cupboards and worktops go from the kitchen to the balcony door, favoring the desired spaciousness effect. Another resource used to reinforce uniformity was to use a single material on the floor: porcelain tile with a burnt cement pattern (Incepa).
“This is a very important tip for smaller apartments. The more homogeneous the coatings are, the greater the sense of spaciousness”. The clay brick (Certitel), specifically for use as cladding, was installed on the wall and reinforces the length of the space.

intimate sector
The main solution, explain the architects, was to propose cabinet doors with mirrors for the dormitory. The idea collaborates in creating a feeling of grandiosity and also leaves the volume of the joinery with less impact. In the washbasin in the bathroom, the ceramic sink was replaced by one made of granite São Gabriel, giving it a decorative look as it is also a passageway environment.
