Ukrainian singer Jamala put up for auction the dress where she opened the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv. The money will go to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukrainians affected by the Russian war. The star announced this on Instagram.
The performer stressed that this outfit just doesn’t suit him. However, he wants to help Ukraine.
“From now on, the dress for which I opened the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv will be sold at the Catawiki auction. Proceeds will go to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukrainians affected by the war. In 2017, it was created by the designer that Yuliya Magdych. For me, it’s more than one thing, it’s a real art work, where the traditions and history of my country come together, ”the singer wrote.
According to him, the dress will be the main lot of the charity auction, which will begin on Tuesday, May 10, and will last a week – until May 18. In total, 11 items from Eurovision participants of different years will be will be displayed there.
