In October 2021, while filming in New Mexico, the actor shot cameraman Galina Hutchins. He died in the hospital.
Three crew members of the film Rust are suing Alec Baldwin and the film’s producers, claiming they suffer anxiety and symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of the death of their co-star Galina Hutchins. Variety reported it.
In the lawsuit, team members: crane operator Ross Addiego, costume designer Doran Curtin and director of photography Reese Price indicated that they were close to the Ukrainian woman at the time of the tragedy.
The document also claims that the producers were not without fault and hired people who had previously received safety complaints, including David Halls, the first assistant director. They were also accused of hiring gunsmith Hannah Gutierrez Reed despite her lack of experience because they allegedly wanted to “make production quick and cheap”.
Addiego, Curtin, and Price also said that Baldwin was not cooperative with gun practice, and did not make sure the gun was not loaded with a live bullet and unloaded before filming.
Earlier it was reported that actor Alec Baldwin had pleaded guilty to murder charges against Galina Hutchins.
