Adam Levine discovered that his vintage Maserati Ghibli had a fake VIN number. The singer claims that the supercar is not real and wants to cancel the deal to buy it.
The lead singer of the American band Maroon 5, Adam Levine, has filed a lawsuit against vintage car dealer Rick Cole. The star said he was sold a fake Maserati supercar. The Los Angeles Times writes about it.
Levin has been collecting vintage cars for a long time. So, in December 2020, I bought a 1971 Maserati Ghibli Spyder SS.
It is worth noting that this is a relatively rare model, of which only 25 pieces were made in the world.
Cole valued the car at $850,000. However, Levin bought it in exchange for his two Ferraris, a 1968 365 GTC convertible and a 1972 365 GTC/4 Daytona. The singer received a $100,000 co-payment.
But after the purchase, the star began to doubt the authenticity of the supercar. In particular, the car’s VIN-number has signs of forgery. Then it turned out that the Maserati Ghibli Spyder SS with this body number AM115.492.1241 was registered in Europe and not imported to the USA.
And in 2015, it was even removed from the auction, because they couldn’t confirm its authenticity.
Now, the musician’s lawyers say the vintage car is worth less than $850,000 and are demanding Levin cancel the car exchange deal or pay compensation.

It can be remembered that earlier in the concert of the pop-rock band Maroon 5 in California, a girl ran out of the stage and fell on Levin’s neck.
