Last Thursday, the 16th, Ivete Sangalo officially opened Carnaval 2023 in Salvador, during her performance with the Trio Elétrico, the singer paid tribute to Black Gilwho was unable to attend the event due to his treatment for bowel cancer.
It all started when Ivete saw Gilberto GilPreta’s father, in the middle of the block in the capital of Bahia and opened his heart to the singer, showing all his admiration to the greatest musician in the country, according to her.
“Excuse other people and other artists, but you are my love, my passion. You are my greatest idol, you are the greatest musician in this country. You sing beautifully, dance beautifully, compose beautifully, you are generous, you take care of us. I love you”, declared Ivete.
Visibly emotional, the singer mentioned her friend: “I thank you for one of the most beautiful gifts you gave me, which is my Pretinha Gil”
In the end, Ivete sent a message to Preta Gil: “Next year you’ll be here at this carnival, kicking ass. Preta Gil, I dedicate my Carnival to you. I love you lots”
