The model admitted that it was very difficult to see a participant in the Russian Federation among the participants, because every time he was reminded of the horrors of war.
Victoria Apanasenko, who represented Ukraine in the international beauty contest Miss Universe, told how she felt about the participation of Russian Anna Linnikova. He revealed this in an interview with Anna Olitskaya.
According to her, when she found out that a Russian girl could take part in the contest, the organizing committee of Miss Ukraine Universe immediately started to solve this issue, because, as the Ukrainian mentioned, it is unacceptable for a young female face of an aggressor country to participate in this event.
“There were different options. For example, just give her a voice as a woman, because this is primarily a platform for women. Then she could perform without a ribbon, and just introduce herself. This was, if I’m not mistaken, at the Olympic Games. But within two weeks, when everything was ready, we found out that he received a visa for three years,” she said.
At the same time, Victoria Apanasenko noted that the Miss Universe beauty contest positions itself as apolitical, so the organizers turn a blind eye to it, but make sure that there are no conflicts between the girls behind the scenes.
“The organizers did everything possible to avoid conflict … I understood that it would be difficult for me emotionally. And I understood that there might be some kind of conflict, because I came from the war,” added the model from Chernivtsi.
It was previously reported that Victoria Apanasenko said that she was not allowed to mention the war on the show.
