He noted that the Ukrainian troops have a deep defense, which is ready for any development of events.
Ukrainian presenter Gennady Popenko serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the north of the Kiev region. He spoke about the preparation of Ukraine for a possible offensive of Russian troops from the territory of Belarus and the situation at the front in an interview with Alina Dorotyuk.
“In the north, they are ready for an offensive. After the de-occupation, the men are working all the time, digging. Engineering equipment is working, there are many engineering units building fortifications, which the Muscovites do not know and do not see. If the Russians move, there will be many unpleasant surprises for them, “- he said.
In addition, the fighter is convinced that the Russian Federation does not yet have the resources for a new large-scale offensive from the north.
“The buffer zone, where a large number of the Ukrainian army is stationed, has greatly delayed the soldiers. There will not be such a quick victory as on February 24. They will enter, fight and stop. And they will stand until in they are destroyed. Even if you hear explosions, alarms, sirens, calmly pack, get in the car and drive at a safe distance so that even the MLRS is not enough. Wait until the moment the territory is cleared and return home ,” added Popenko.
He also believes that the war will not end anytime soon.
“It’s a long, hard struggle – you have to prepare for it. And you shouldn’t relax that in a week everything will be over, respectively, in a week we’ll go somewhere on vacation. It’s necessary let’s adjust our lives, habits, family, work. So that it doesn’t end quickly,” he said.
It will be recalled that Popenko left to defend the country from the Russian aggressor last summer.
