Iconic American motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson will gradually shift to the production of electric motorcycles and will soon completely stop production of gasoline bikes. This is what CEO Jochen Seitz said in an interview with Dezeen.
According to him, electrification is a “natural evolution” and a logical step for the brand. By the way, the manufacturer is already celebrating its 120th anniversary.
“If you look at the past 120 years, you will see that the company has continued to grow and never stood still. We celebrate our past, but at the same time we build our brand,” Seitz said.
He said that this process will not be quick. In particular, because Harley-Davidson respects its longtime fans and doesn’t want to lose them.
However, along with it, the company has already introduced some electric models.
As you know, the first Harley-Davidson LiveWire electric bike was put into production in 2018. Later, a whole line of LiveWire appeared that cost from $15,000 to $22,000.
