In his victory speech, the 53-year-old Australian criticized the “patriarchal pyramid” that he believes underlies such events.
According to the actress, she was inspired by all the nominees, as well as “every woman on TV, movies and commercials for tampons.” He vowed in his speech, calling to change the “whole damn structure” of the awards ceremonies.
“I can’t believe I’m here. This is stupid. I would be happy if we just change the whole damn structure. What kind of patriarchal pyramid is this when one person is standing here? Why don’t we just say what .are there many female roles that get along and talk to each other?And stop broadcasting this race on TV, because I can tell you that every woman on TV, in movies, in tampon commercials, in whatever thing, does amazing work, which continues to inspire me. Thank you. I share this award with all of you,” said Kate.
