A new software update disables the use of autopilot. The ban is in effect if the system is forcibly shut down five times.
Tesla has developed a new penalty for inattentive drivers. This was reported by InsideEVs.
So, if a Tesla driver ignores the Autopilot signals that he should take control of the electric vehicle, then the system is forcibly disabled and will not be active for two weeks.
“Disabling the autonomous driving system is a necessary step for maximum safety of the driver and passengers. Keep your hands on the wheel and always be alert. The use of any hand-held devices while using the autopilot is prohibited. The FSD Beta function will be unavailable for approximately two weeks in case of usage violations,” – See software update release notes.
Previously, Tesla was known to completely remove users from the beta version of the autonomous driving system without any instructions. He did not work endlessly.
Remember that Tesla on autopilot caused a massive accident. The electric car suddenly changed lanes and braked right on the highway. As a result, eight vehicles collided.
