The Cheongju government plans to make all public transport in the city autonomous by 2025.
Unmanned passenger buses will appear in South Korea for the first time. They will run a 22.4-kilometer route. This was reported by The Korea Times.
It was noted that the autonomous bus route will run between Sejong Intercity Bus Terminal and Oson Station in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province.
In addition, regular buses will run parallel to them. But unmanned buses will be given a separate route number.
Initially, only two autonomous buses will be launched. For safety, they will have a driver and a security officer.
It is also known that the drones will make a total of six flights, starting from noon to 16:00 from Monday to Friday. They will have eight stops.
Initially, everyone will be able to use the autonomous buses for free. To do this, you need to apply for a trial period using a QR code, which will be valid for three months.
Passengers will be charged the same fare as the regular bus fare.
In addition, it is planned to adapt the roads not only for public vehicles without cars, but also for private ones.
Recall that earlier in Turkey was presented an unmanned helicopter Alpin, developed and produced by Titra Teknoloji.
