Today it is the only existing wine estate in the center of Milan.
French businessman and CEO of the luxury conglomerate LVMH, Bernard Arnault, bought a unique property with its own vineyard. The mansion is located in the heart of Milan: Villa Casa Degli Atellani. It used to belong to Leonardo da Vinci. Artribune writes about it.
It is worth noting that last week Arno became the richest person in the world, ahead of Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, precisely because he bought this property.
He bought the Villa Casa Degli Atellani from the descendants of the Conti and Portaluppi families. At the same time, LVMH representatives did not disclose the value of the transaction and the purpose of the acquisition.
It is known that the residence was built in 1490. The Duke of Milan, Ludovico il Moro, presented it to Leonardo Da Vinci in 1498 so that he could create in comfortable conditions. At the time, Leonardo was just painting the famous Last Supper in a nearby church.
Casa Degli Atellani has passed through many owners. But Leonardo’s vineyard is still on the property.
