Charlene GAYAULT. – I sometimes meet women who discover their pregnancy around 12 weeks of amenorrhoea, versus usually 5. Those who are on birth control pills are a bit stunned, it seems to them that it is impossible to get pregnant with the pill, for example. However, even if it is very small, there is always a risk, regardless of the method of contraception, and with the pill, forgetfulness or irregular taking are not uncommon. Some people are shocked when they find out they are pregnant, for others it is really good news. Every situation is unique and generalizations should not be made.
Do these women have anything in common?
This can apply to all types of women, regardless of their age or socio-economic level. Those who have irregular periods are obviously more at risk of ‘skipping’ because for them the lack of periods…
