Detroit (AP) – Jack White surprised fans when he married musician Olivia Jean on stage at a homecoming show in Detroit on Friday.
The Detroit-born singer, songwriter and producer invited Jean to the stage for her performance and introduced her as his girlfriend.
White asked her to marry him while performing the song “Hotel Yorba” and in front of the poem “Let’s Get Married”.
Jean, a compatriot from Detroit, cried and said yes, Detroit Free Press Reported. White then released him on stage.
They later reappeared at Bis and were married on stage in a ceremony led by Ben Swank, co-founder of White Recorder.
Jean is part of rock band Black Belles label, which is on hiatus and has also signed his label as a solo artist.
White, who founded White Stripes, had been married twice before. His Friday show was his first solo show since 2018 in his hometown and he started his Supply Chain Issues tour and released his new album “Fear of the Dawn”.
