You know your plan is “really crazy” when even Rudy Julian thinks it’s a bad idea, says Late Night host Seth Myers.
In the third of six hearings, the U.S. Capitol Attack Chamber Committee of Jan. 6, 2021 last week painted a picture of how Donald Trump’s attorney John Eastman helped the then president formulate a plan to eliminate elections in 2020. With Vice President Mike Pence.
The committee met with Eric Hershman, an attorney and former Trump senior adviser, who said he was called on the morning of Jan. 6 by Julian, Trump’s personal attorney at the time. Hershman said Julian later acknowledged that Pence probably had no authority to do what Trump and Eastman proposed.
“It’s amazing to me that even Rudy knew it was a crazy and bad idea,” Myers said Monday. “Rudi. This way you’ll know that your plan is really crazy. It’s a guy who, after a lot of research, thought it was a good idea to make a video using the Abraham Lincoln filter. The same boy looked at John’s plan. Eastman and said, “I don’t know.”
After Pence refused to perform, a crowd of Trump supporters surrounded the Capitol and some sang for his execution. At one point, a group of rebels was inside the Capitol, 40 feet from the Pension.
