Amy Sumer uses her new Hulu drama, “Life & Beth,” to share some of her painful real -life struggles.

“I think everyone has a big secret and it’s mine.” He told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview released Friday. “And I’m proud that my big secret is painful, but that’s why I’ve been ashamed of it for so long.”
Sumer’s condition first appeared in a difficult period of childhood – his His father filed for bankruptcy after he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and his mother left him with the paternal wife of Sumer’s best friend.

She is particularly worried about the genetic component of the condition because she has a nearly 3-year-old son.

Although Sumer was not interested in revealing their own struggles, he provided friends and family who helped inspire Life & Beth to have some limits on what was included in the show.
“I’m so happy to talk about everything that personally concerns me,” he said. “But any part of the show that’s based on someone, I’m responsible for them.”
Sumer’s next big concert will take place on Sunday, where he will lead the Oscars with Regina Hall and Wanda Sikes.
