Pain is universal and each of us has experienced it from time to time. 71% of French people even say they have already experienced severe physical pain, according to a survey conducted by OpinionWay for the website Second Opinion*. Women (75% vs. men 68%) and inactive people (77% vs. 70% for CSP and 65% for CSP+) were the most likely to experience this type of acute pain. But they are not satisfied with their suffering. 57% of respondents believe that pain is not considered enough in society, and 31% believe that even doctors do not care enough about it. Back problems (44% on average, and about 50% after 35 years) and painful periods (35% of men and 51% of women) are particularly poorly cared for, but this figure decreases with age 79% of 18-24 year olds feel that painful periods are poorly managed, compared to 34% of over 65s.
