CNN cameraman Victor Blackwell drowned Monday when he reported the scene of a mass shooting that devastated Buffalo, New York, over the weekend.
“You see, I’m counting in the car and talking to my producer. I made 15,” said the host and correspondent of the shooting. “In any case, they’re the ones I can count on.”
“And we keep talking, Democrats will say guns, Republicans will say sanity and nothing will change. And I’ll probably do something else this year.”
On Saturday, a white gunman opened fire at a Buffalo supermarket, shooting 13 people and killing 10. Most of them were black. 18-year-old Peyton Gendron is accused of traveling approximately 200 miles into the area with the intent to kill as many blacks as possible after researching local demographics. Gendron was arrested and pleaded not guilty.

Gendron allegedly legally bought a semi-automatic rifle from a gun store in New York State. An online racist poster attributed to Gendron says he swapped weapons using his father’s drill. This was reported by the New York Times.
“We’re going to get into political talks later, but is this how we should live?” Blackwell asked when his show ended. “Are we going to continue to do this from city to city?” Have we just left this position will we be? “
Mass shooting is one of them in the United States every weekend. A California man opened fire on Sunday at a church in Southern California over lunch. One person was killed and five were injured in what he called a politically motivated attack. In Houston, on Sunday, two people were killed and three were injured in a shooting at a market. A series of shootings also took place in North Carolina, injuring seven people.
