Naomi Judd, a Grammy-winning couple from the Kentucky-born duo The Judds and Winona and mother of Ashley Judd, has passed away. He is 76 years old.
The daughters announced her death Saturday in a statement to the Associated Press.
“Today my brothers and I have experienced a tragedy. “We lost our beautiful mother to mental illness,” the statement read. “Crush us. We feel great sadness and we know that how much we love him, he loves his community. We are in unknown territory. ”No further details were given in the statement.
Jades will be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame on Sunday.
The mother-daughter performers performed song number 14 in their careers, which lasted nearly three decades. After climbing to the top of country music, they were abandoned in 1991 after doctors diagnosed Naomi Judd with hepatitis.
