“To heal well, the doctor must be happy.”, is launched by Dr. Jérôme Martin, Haute-Garonne general practitioner and head of media for the Union française pour une medecine libre (UFML). Born in 2012 out of the “dove doctors” movement, the UFML supports, with others (but not the profession’s majority unions, the Confederation of French Medical Unions and MG France), a strike movement that began in early December. “Doctors for Tomorrow”, a very young collective born on Facebook in September, has more than 16,000 participants.
Their main demand. a basic consultation with a general practitioner is set at €50 instead of €25. “Physicians work an average of 55 hours per week, and more than 20% of the work time is outside consulting, administrative, practice management.”condemns the collective demanding a “A real shocker (…) to promote confirmed installation”.
