“Saturday Night Live’s” James Austin Johnson was shot again as Donald Trump touted his digital “scam” books — “nifties” — during the show’s cold open this weekend.
“This is Donald Trump, hopefully this is your favorite president of all time, better than Lincoln, better than Washington,” Johnson said, quoting Trump’s actual words in his video showing the NFT footage earlier this week.
“Trump cards are $99 each. It feels like a lot, it feels like a scam, and in many ways it is,” Trump admitted of Johnson.
“You can get them for free and by going online and watching them, maybe, I don’t know,” she added. “We can take a screenshot, but we’d really rather you send the $99.” These come with an additional prize from a “mystery” box marked “classified”.
The “SNL” version of the cards featured some even better than Trump’s list: the former president doing splits, crossing the Delaware as George Washington and appearing as voluptuous cartoon character Jessica Rabbit.
“Wow, look at those legs on her,” he said. “Maybe I’d date her if it wasn’t me,” added “Trump.”
Donald Trump Jr. (Mikey Day) and girlfriend Kimberly Guilfolye (Cecily Strong) showed up to whip the cards. “Here they are!” Johnson remarked as they left. “What a terrible couple!”
Johnson ended up being confused by Trump’s confusing speech:
“We’re all saying Merry Christmas again, right? I bring this up because Christmas is very important to Christians and I believe to Jews as well. …Merry Christmas is heard a lot more lately, just like in “A Christmas Carol”. Last night I was visited… by three ghosts, including, actually, there were four, if you name it [Jeffrey] Epstein,” he added.
“We love Santa, don’t we, folks?” Johnson asked. “We love Santa Claus. But not Ron DeSanta. We don’t like DeSanta very much.”
