Romain Quiro’s second feature film delves into these gangs of outlaws wreaking havoc with total impunity in Belle Époque Paris.
Paris, 1900: From Montmartre to Ménilmontane, the capital is the victim of ultra-violent gangs that rule terror; The Apaches. Willing to do anything to avenge her dead brother, a young woman (Alice Isaaz) manages to join the massive organization of the man responsible for this murder (Nils Schneider). Double Immersion, as the closer he gets to the object of his wrath, the more attracted he becomes.
It’s impossible not to think Gangs of New York In the eyes of this trailer by Martin Scorsese, a reference with which Romain Quiro is measured, who signs his second feature film there (After the Last Voyage, 2021). This suburban and cheeky version feeds a certain curiosity.
apache: based on true historical facts, the dark and little-known side of the Belle Epoque, where gangs of outlaws dominated the streets of Paris amid social unrest and general impunity. There were, for example, the Monte-en-l’air of the Batignolles or the Wolves of Bute, gangs governed by a tribal logic according to clear rules and signs of territorial belonging.
