Check out some Disney productions that don’t feature the famous Prince Charming
For many years, Disney animations presented us with some classic fairy tales, with princes, princesses, castles and a fearsome villain. However, over the years, this formula ended up being modified, and not always all of these items are present in the plots.
In several recent films, for example, we can notice the absence of princes, and a greater role in the adventures and heroism of princesses. Thinking about it, Recreio separated an incredible list for you with five productions that don’t have charming princes. Check out!
1. Raya and the Last Dragon
Synopsis: “’Raya and the Last Dragon’ takes us to the wonderful world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together in harmony until a great threat caused the dragons to sacrifice themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, danger resurfaces and the lone warrior Raya embarks on a journey to find the last dragon, restore balance and unite the peoples. But along her quest, she realizes that it will take more than a dragon to save the world: trust and teamwork are essential too!
2. Brave
Synopsis: “Take a heroic journey with Merida, a skilled archer and headstrong daughter of King Fergus and Queen Elinor. Determined to forge her own path in life, Merida defies an ancient sacred tradition of the rambunctious and boisterous lords of the realm. When Merida’s actions unleash chaos in the kingdom, she must use all her skills and resources, including her clever and mischievous triplet brothers, to undo a terrible curse before it’s too late and discover the meaning of true bravery.
3. Red: Growing is a Beast
Synopsis: “’Red: Growing up is a Beast’ tells the story of Mei Lee, a 13-year-old girl living the typical chaos of adolescence. But aside from having to deal with her overprotective mother and changes in her body and relationships, Mei has another little problem: whenever she gets too emotional (like ALL THE TIME), she turns into a giant red panda!”
4. Moana
Synopsis: “Moana Waialiki is a brave young woman, the daughter of a chieftain in Oceania, who comes from a long line of seafarers. Wanting to find out more about her past and help her family, she decides to go in search of her ancestors, inhabitants of a mythical island that nobody knows where it is. Accompanied by the legendary demigod Maui, Moana begins her journey on the open sea, where she faces terrible creatures and uncovers stories of the underworld.”
5. Frozen — A Freezing Adventure
Synopsis: “Fearless optimist Anna sets out on an epic journey, alongside mountain man Kristoff and his faithful reindeer Sven, to find her sister Elsa, whose freezing powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in an eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff face obstacles in a race to save the kingdom.”
