Last Wednesday, November 30th, the Spotify presented its 2022 Retrospective (Wrapped, in English) where it revealed the rankings of the most listened to in Brazil and in the world. Now, it’s time to find out what was successful among Generation Z this year.
According to Spotify’s annual global trends report, Culture Next, in the first quarter of 2022 alone, users aged 18-24 listened to over 578 billion minutes of music on Spotify (more than any other group). In addition, the average streaming of podcasts by generation Z in Brazil increased by 56% on Spotify in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021. Today, 59% of Brazilians aged 18 to 24 listen to podcasts weekly.
Brazilian GenZers’ most popular musical genres are carioca funk, pop and sertanejo pop. Already the most popular among GenZers in the world are pop, dance pop and rap.
