Starting this Wednesday, the 30th, music lovers can find out which songs, singers, bands, records and podcasts marked their year through the Retrospective Spotifyavailable exclusively on the Spotify mobile app (iOS and Android) through the Retrospective 2022 hub.
But, in addition to allowing fans to have a personalized experience based on what they listen to within music streaming, Spotify has revealed which were the most listened artists, songs and albums around the globe, where the giant group of k- pop, BTS emerged occupying the fifth position in the ranking of ‘Most listened to artists in the world’.
In addition to Jin🇧🇷 Jimin🇧🇷 V🇧🇷 jungkook🇧🇷 j-hope🇧🇷 Sucks and MRIartists of different styles and nationalities were featured in the lists, such as Bad Bunny, Puerto Rican rapper who is the most listened to singer in all the world territories and responsible for appearing in all categories of the Retrospective. Most Listened Artists in the World
For the third consecutive year (and the first to achieve this feat), Bad Bunny ranks No. 1 as the most-streamed artist worldwide, with over 18.3 billion streams this year. The second most streamed artist — and the most streamed female artist of the year — is Taylor Swift (#2), followed by drake (#3), The Weeknd (#4) and BTS (#5).
Most listened songs in the world
This year, the most listened song is the international success of Harry Styles, ‘As It Was’, with over 1.5 billion streams globally this year. In second place is ‘Heat Waves’, by Glass Animals, while third place is occupied for the second consecutive year by ‘STAY’ (with Justin bieber) per The Kid LAROI🇧🇷 Fourth and fifth place come from Bad Bunny with ‘Me Porto Bonito’ (#4) and ‘Tití Me Preguntó’ (#5) completing the list.
Most Listened Albums in the World
This year’s musical star, Bad Bunny, also tops the list of most listened to albums with ‘Un Verano Sin Ti’, followed by the third studio album by Harry Styles, ‘Harry’s House’, taking second place. In a repeat of last year’s global favourites, ‘sour’ by Olivia Rodrigo (#3); ‘=’ of Ed Sheeran (#4); and Planet Her, from doja cat (#5) each return in third, fourth, and fifth place, respectively.
