The National Literary and Memorial Museum of Grigory Skovoroda was destroyed as a result of rocket attacks in the Kharkiv region on May 7.
The Ukrainian Eurovision 2022 winning group Kalush Orchestra, which recently became the ambassador of the project of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine – Save Ukrainian culture, donated more than 300 thousand hryvnias for the restoration of the Hryhoriy Skovoroda museum in the village of Skovorodinivka. This was reported by the ICIP website.
During a tour of North America and Canada, the musicians sold their own double bass, and sent the money to the project.
“During our concerts abroad, we tried to raise funds for Ukraine. At one of our concerts in Washington we had the idea to organize an additional charity auction. We managed to sell a brand new double bass , which is common with our Sasha Kondratyuk playing, and got a huge amount. “We decided to transfer it to the fund of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy. In addition, this is not the first charity auction. We plan to continue holding similar auctions to raise as much money as possible to help Ukrainians,” said Oleg Psyuk, frontman of the band.
Recall that the goals of the project are to fix the war crimes of the Russian army against the cultural monuments of Ukraine and to attract patrons, donors and representatives of world governments to the preservation and restoration of heritage of Ukrainian culture.
