Lee Sooman, founder of SM Entertainment will win a documentary about his musical career entitled ‘Lee Soo Man: The King of K-Pop’ (‘Lee Soo Man: O Rei do K-pop’ in free translation into Portuguese). The work will be produced by This Machine and will be part of the Amazon Prime Video catalog.
According to a statement about the production published on Deadline, the work will be a “documentary that chronicles the fascinating life of a daring visionary whose work put his country on top of the map, sparked a global movement and continues to define an era”.
Furthermore, the same statement compares Lee Sooman The Steve Jobs, the creator of applewhen describing the entrepreneur who brought the likes of Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, f(x), EXO, Red Velvet and NCT to the Korean music industry as ‘futuristic and visionary’.
WHO IS LEE SOOMAN?
With his debut in the music industry in 1972 as an idol, Lee Sooman he didn’t wait long to found his first company. Opened in 1989, it was initially called SM Studio, but in 1995 it received the famous name SM Entertainment, an agency that since then has launched big names in K-pop.
‘Lee Soo Man: The King of K-Pop’ will be directed by ting pooco-director of the documentary “Val” about actor Val Kilmer, released in 2021.
