Keke Palmer recently opened up about the sex advice she once traded “Sister Act” star Whoopi Goldberg.
On Tuesday’s episode of the “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer” podcast, the young actor spoke with sex therapist Kate Balestrieri about his complicated relationship with intimacy. Palmer recalled that Goldberg’s words of wisdom helped her figure out what she really wanted in bed — and it wasn’t “porn-style” sex.
“I’ll never forget, I was on ‘The View’ one time and they had a conversation about sex—a really great conversation. And Whoopi Goldberg said, ‘Please start by saying thank you,'” Palmer said. “And I said, ‘It looks real.’
Even the “No” star. he told Balestrieri she saw that sex focused more on her partner’s experience than her own.
“My gender identity has always been based on, ‘Oh, I just have to do this thing.’ And my pleasure … came from ‘I’m glad they’re happy,’ she said.
But according to Palmer, even then he knew it wasn’t the best mindset he had.
“It was depressing and not enough. … So it was a journey of trying to figure out what works for me,” she recalled.
Later in the episode, the The creator of KeyTV she said she previously based her approach to sex on what she saw in porn.
“There was a time in my life where I thought sex through porn … was something that could be interesting or fun, but I never had a happy ending,” Palmer said.
Earlier this month, the “True Jackson, VP” alum offered similar thoughts on the issue during an appearance on the “Whoreible Decisions” podcast.
“I only got a happy ending from a more modest, calmer, more emotional approach,” she said at the time. Palmer noted that this was reflected in her preference for “girl on girl porn”, describing it as “adorable and beautiful.”
“It’s the delicacy of the arrangement. I don’t like all that heavy stuff,” she said.
Although the Emmy winner has largely kept her relationships out of the spotlight over the years, she became Instagram official with fitness pro and entertainer Darius Jackson in 2021.
“He’s the happiest I’ve ever felt with anybody,” Palmer said agitation of her boyfriend in March. “Why would I go to such lengths to hide this person? This is a lot more work than living my life and being in my life.
