Remember how the montage and final version of the Brazilian adaptation of High School Musical went
One of Disney’s biggest hits was the “High School Musical” franchise, which became a true worldwide phenomenon. Because it was a hit among young people in the 2000s, Disney Channel Brasil decided to make a Brazilian version of the story, with the same style, both in terms of plot and characters. However, the film titled “High School Musical: The Challenge”, which was released in theaters, did not achieve the same success as the original.
The beginning of everything
The Brazilian channel Disney Channel was largely responsible for the production idea. It all started in 2008, when the reality show “High School Musical — The Selection” was supposed to choose only 8 young people to star in the Brazilian version. The program had more than 17,000 subscribers, and had a panel of judges. Some of the reality finalists even star, later on, in the Disney Channel series “Como Toca o Sino”, also on Disney Channel.

The Brazilian adaptation hit theaters two years after the premiere of “High School Musical 3: Year of Graduation”. In the first weekend of the film in theaters, more than 71 thousand tickets were sold.
History
“High School Musical: The Challenge” is a Total Films and Disney production. The feature tries to bring the story of the original film to the Brazilian reality, as, for example, instead of basketball, soccer is the school’s strongest sport. The main core had a correlation with the American characters, but they didn’t have the same names. Around here, many characters ended up adopting the same name as the actor who played them.
Despite the script being very similar to what we saw in “High School Musical”, the songs did not captivate the public as much as Disney would have liked. On the other hand, the film also has some surprise appearances, as happened in “High School Musical 2”, when Miley Cyrus appears in the final minutes. In “High School Musical: The Challenge”, the special participation was that of the singer Vanessa Camargo🇧🇷
