Like the first film in the franchise, ‘Disenchanted’ has several references to the stories of the princesses; see what they are!
In addition to bringing a new face of Giselle, ‘Disenchanted’ reached the catalog of disney+ last Friday, the 18th, consecrating several feats that transformed it into the franchise starring Amy Addams in one of the classics of Casa do Mickey, and among them, are the easter eggs related to the already beloved stories of the princesses.
This is because, in addition to the plot starting with the reading of a book and the iconic singing with the animals already known in ‘Encantada’ (2007), the new film brings several other moments that recall the narratives of fairy tales seen in ‘Cinderella’, ‘The Little Mermaid’ and even ‘Frozen’. In case you haven’t noticed all the mentions of the princesses’ movies, don’t worry, we’ve listed five of them below:
1. Morgan replicated Ariel’s scene
During the performance of ‘Perfect’, Morgan (Gabriella Baldacchino) leans over crates of fruit and vegetables as a bucket of water is thrown at the site, providing an effect very similar to that seen in ‘The Little Mermaid’, when Ariel sings ‘Part of Your World’.
In addition to the visual similarity, the lyrics of the two songs have similar messages, as both express the desire to be free being who they really are. Look above!
2. Fauna, Flora and Spring emerge in a new way
Did you notice that the three gardeners have different colored clothes? This could just be a common costume detail, but it’s not! That’s because the tones of red, green and blue make a connection with Fauna, Flora and Primavera, the three good fairies from ‘Sleeping Beauty’ who raised Aurora for 16 years.
In addition, the trio, who even receive a pair of wings, also mentions a phrase that brings the two productions even closer, since they say they are especially good at “nap time”, an allusion to the curse suffered by Aurora.
3. The transformation of the dress

In ‘Cinderella’, the young princess has her tattered old dress magically transformed into a majestic ball gown so she can attend the important royal ball, where she ends up meeting her prince.
The same transformation happens to Morgan in ‘Disenchanted’, but the reason for this to happen is quite different, as he was part of the plan to restore order to the world through Giselle’s wishing tree.
4. Reference to Frozen?
Even in the scene where Morgan’s dress is transformed, there is another allusion to one of Disney’s greatest films: ‘Frozen’. At the moment, Nancy sings “Love Power”, song by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartwhich features the line “let it grow, let it glow”, a clear reference to ‘Let It Go’, song from the 2014 film.
The ester egg becomes even more special since, in addition to being Nancy’s interpreter, Idina Menzel, is also responsible for voicing Elsa’s powerful theme song. Watch!
Of the best scenes of #Disenchanted Idina Menzel sung “Love Power”, music by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz.
This excerpt brought nostalgia for 2D animated films by Disney. The animation in this cut is some of the best Disney has ever produced (like the 90’s) but it conquers pic.twitter.com/11WcSMgr7V

5. Objects that speak
One of the most notable visual references to ‘Beauty and the Beast’ are the common everyday objects that gain personality, act on their own and speak, as is the case with the candlestick, the teapot and the clock. As in the animation that hit theaters in 1991, ‘Disenchanted’ also brings these elements, however, in Giselle’s story, this is the result of a curse.
Normal objects that speak and operate on their own are a clear reference. In that movie, the home appliances are all house servants who have been cursed.
