Marvel Cinematic Universe star Chris Hemsworth has decided to take a break from acting after learning that he has a history of Alzheimer’s disease. The actor spoke about this in an interview with Vanity Fair.
It is known that he learned about it while filming the documentary series Limitless, where he tested what a person can do at the peak of his physical form, and how he can slow down aging.
So, after the tests, Chris Hemsworth found out that he has two APOE4 genes at the same time, which increases the risk of Alzheimer’s disease several times.
“Many of us like to avoid talking about death, hoping that somehow we can avoid it. We believe that eventually we will know it. And then suddenly you are told that there are some indicators that point exactly in the direction this. And now you are aware of the truth. You know your mortality,” he said.
Scientists have previously reported that the number of plaques in the brain plays a role in the development of Alzheimer’s disease.
