the new princess
The film’s protagonist and Disney’s newest princess will be named Asha. The 17-year-old has been described as “determined, incredibly smart and optimistic”. According to Deadline’s description, Asha is “an insightful leader in the making who sees the darkness others don’t.”
History
The film will show the origin of the famous wishing star, who appears in several other Disney films, such as “Pinocchio” and “The Princess and the Frog”. It is worth remembering that all requests made to the star were fulfilled.
By now, it is already known that we will accompany Asha on a great adventure. The princess will navigate through the Wish Realm, which is where wishes can be granted. She asks the stars for help, and ends up giving life to one of them.
Dubbing
In addition, we also know who will be responsible for lending her voice to Asha. The chosen one for the role was the actress Ariana DeBosewinner of the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress this year, for her work in “Amor, Sublime Amor”.
The actor Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) is also already confirmed in the voice cast. He will lend his voice to Valentino, a small goat who is Asha’s partner, and who dreams of being able to communicate.
Direction
“Wish” will feature big names in its production. Those responsible for commanding the animation are Chris Buckco-director of “Frozen” and “Tarzan”, and Fawn Veera Sunthornwho worked on “Wifi Ralph: Breaking the Internet” and “Raya and the Last Dragon”.
The script will be signed by Buck and Jennifer Leewho wrote the story for “Frozen”, in addition to working on the scripts for “Wreck-It Ralph” and “Zootopia”.
Musical
Another certainty that we already have about the film is that it will be a musical, andJulia Michaels is responsible for the soundtrack of the production. The singer, who has already had four Grammy nominations, is the name behind big hits, such as “Sorry”, by Justin bieberand “Lose You to Love Me” by Selena Gomez🇧🇷 She also has her own songs like “Issues” and “What a Time”, a song with Niall Horan🇧🇷
During the D23 Expo panel where the film was announced, Ariana DeBrose sang a snippet of one of the songs in the film. Check out the performance of the song “More For Us”:
different technique
Most Disney princess movies are in 2D and the most recent ones are in 3D. But “Wish” promises to be different: the feature will not be entirely in 3D, but a mixture of this style with the watercolor technique on the screens.
special celebration

The story about the origin of the wishing star was not chosen by chance: the film, which is expected to arrive in theaters in November 2023, will be part of the celebration of 100 years of Walt Disney Animation Studios.
