Nicolas Cage gave birth to a baby girl with his fifth wife, Rico Shibata.
The couple will name their son Lennon Ogg in honor of the late Beatles musician John Lennon and Cage’s late father August Coppola, Cage said Thursday on the Kelly Clarkson Show.
Cage’s statement came when he remembered being “frozen, paralyzed” at age 4 when his brother played “Let It Be” in The Beatles ’Across The Universe.
“This is my favorite song ever written, so I will announce good news for everyone,” the actor told Clarkson.
“I’m going to have a baby girl,” Cage continued. “And his name, because of‘ the whole world ’, will be called Lennon Oggy. Augie is like my father. And I will call him Lenin, for short.
“I’m excited, this is going to be the greatest adventure of my life,” he added.
Cage and Shibata were married in February 2021. In January they announced that they were waiting.
Cage has children Ca-El Coppola, 16, and Weston Coppola, 31, from a previous relationship. The actor had previously said that if he was a newborn, the couple would have named him Akira Francesco.
