“Celebrity Jeopardy!” is facing criticism for an “insensitive” piece involving Brian Laundrie’s confessed murder of Gabby Petito and his subsequent suicide.

On Sunday’s episode, host Mayim Bialik read the clue: “In 2021, fugitive Brian Laundrie ended his days in the Myakkahatchee Creek area of Florida, where these long, toothy creatures live.”
“What are alligators?” “Fire Island” star Joel Kim Booster got it right.
The show’s decision to tie an alligator to this high-profile case shocked viewers.
“I was horrified when I was watching Jeopardy and … they asked me a regular question about alligators referencing Brian Laundrie! Oh Mayim. Ah danger! What incredibly bad taste. one viewer wrote.
“You couldn’t have gotten to the AAAAAA alligator any other way????” observed another.
“So morbidly unnecessary. He could have said something about Florida and he could have gotten there.” an angry onlooker intervened. Another expressed a similar sentiment: “That suggestion Brian Laundrie he was disgusting and insensitive. There really wasn’t a better suggestion for the word “alligator”????”
It’s been an eventful week for the gaming franchise. Bialik’s co-star Ken Jennings recently drew attention by shouting “oh shit!” for accidentally giving an answer in an exhibition match during the Tournament of Champions.
