The star passed away at the age of 76 due to chronic lung disease so he was forced to leave the stage.
Nazareth lead singer Dan McCafferty has died in Scotland. He is survived by his wife and children, Consequence wrote.
The sad news was announced by the star’s friend and bassist Pete Agnew.
“Marianne and her family lost a wonderful loving husband and father, I lost my best friend and the world lost one of the greatest singers that ever lived. Too upset to say even what now,” he wrote.
Note that Nazareth is most famous for their hits Hair of the Dog and Love Hurts. And the band’s 1975 album Hair of the Dog was certified platinum for more than 1 million copies sold in the US alone.
McCafferty left Nazareth in August 2013 for health reasons. Later, he recorded the Rock ‘n’ Roll Telephone album with the band.
Remember, the People’s Artist of Armenia, Rafael Kotanjyan, died earlier. He is 80 years old.
