Film Week Celebrates 8th Edition: 19 International Film Premieres, Free Access & More

Film week organized by University of Lima having free access to the general public, he returns in person. Its eighth edition will run from October 29 to November 5 and will feature 19 international premier films, a varied Peruvian cinema list including world premieres among other events.

“This year, as in previous years, there will be various talks and meetings with filmmakers, as well as the Corto de Boleto event, a cinematic resistance competition submitted by students from the Faculty of Communications of the University of Lima. They have to make a short film in a few hours,” Bedoya said.

‘Replacement’, a film by an Argentine director Diego Lermann who won Best Supporting Actress at the recent San Sebastian Film Festival for actress Renata Lerman, will open the program on October 29. National sample movie week combines several recent productions of Peruvian cinema. There are titles such as “The World for Julius” by Rossana Diaz Costa; Bantamweight Hans Matos; “Journey” by José Fernandez del Rio; “Dance of the Thrushes” by Alvaro Luque; The Silent Trilogy by Daniel Rodriguez; and “Uncovered” by Paola Molina. Reflections and debates about Peruvian and international cinema will be accompanied by eight dialogue tables that will take place during movie week. Distinguished guests will discuss topics of interest to communicator students, producers, directors, technicians and film fans. Some of these tables are: “No Borders: Peruvian Cinematography in Latin America”, “Current Special Effects in Fantasy Cinema”, “Off-Road Cinema: Filmmaking in Peru in 2022”, “Creating Space: Promoting Co-Production Ulima Community”, among other things.
