In a surreal and dreamlike world, four women tell us the story of a search for identity, using clothing as a means to shed stereotypes of femininity and find who they really are. This is the premisefur dress“, work modern circus which will be presented on October 22 and 23 at Keel Theater.
Director Camila Vera comments that the proposal originated in a research lab along with other artists. Fernando Luna, Bethlehem Kamaska as well as Irene Lane. Clothing becomes an element of presentation for others, but is the image that we show real? This led them to the problem of identity.
The work presents various expectations and stereotypes about the role of women, which they explore in a space of contrasts. “At this moment, as female identity and gender stereotypes are being redefined, I believe that new femininities and ways of being for women are being born. It really resonated with all of us,” she says.

“fur dressis a cheerful and emotional performance that combines the poetry of dance, the audacity of aerial acrobatics and the power of theatrical communication. “It’s like a movie theater or an acrobatic theater in which more possibilities converge to evoke different sensations in the audience,” the director explains of the play, which seeks to communicate through body and movement.
Camila Vera directs Compañía Silvestre with whom she presents the show modern circus. The group aims to create works for the general public, appealing to adults, with relevant themes and productions that “break stereotypes”.
Although this short season is presented in the theater, they hope to show it soon in public places and outside of Lima. This work was one of the winners of the 2022 Economic Incentive for Culture competition by the Ministry of Culture.
