The number of users of the streaming platform Netflix has dropped for the first time in 10 years. The reduction is 200 thousand. This is stated in the company report.
It was noted that such a decrease was recorded at the end of the quarter. At the same time, it is predicted that without taking into account the departure from the Russian market, the service adds half a million subscribers, but it leaves the Russian market after the start of the war with Ukraine.
It is known that Netflix previously predicted 2.5 million paid new subscribers in the first quarter. And Wall Street analysts expect the service to add 2.8 million new subscribers worldwide.
Meanwhile, the BBC reported that the main reason for the decline in the number of users was the refusal to work in Russia, where the service has more than 700,000 customers.
In addition, another 600,000 subscribers fell in the US and Canada due to price increases.
Streaming service share also fell 26%.
