According to the plot of the book, in 1947, an American soldier returns home after World War II and makes a lasting impression on his five-year-old nephew. The boy grows up and his uncle becomes one of the characters in his graphic novel.
According to Hanks, the book largely reflects his own experience in the film industry.
The book also includes the three comics mentioned in the story.
The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece is Tom Hanks’ debut novel, but the second book in his bibliography. In 2017, the artist released a collection of short stories “A unique specimen. Stories about this and that”, which included 17 stories.
