Filming is scheduled for December-January this year, and the premiere will take place on the anniversary of the tragedy.

On September 13, on the Day of the City of Buchi, Kyiv region, a teaser trailer for the drama film of the same name Bucha was shown in the capital. It was filmed based on real events in this city, as well as in Vorzel, Gostomel and Irpen during the Russian occupation in February-April 2022, the press service reported.

The film will tell the story of the rescue of two hundred people from the occupied territories, taken by the volunteer Konstantin Gudauskas. He is a citizen of Kazakhstan, who received political asylum in Ukraine and lives in Bucha. At the beginning of the Russian invasion, thanks to his Kazakh passport, a person had the opportunity to travel to the territory occupied by Russian troops and hire civilians. Konstantin not only saved people, but also saw with his own eyes all the horrors of war and occupation – murders, robberies, rapes.

The film, produced by Alexander Shchur and directed by Stanislav Tiunov, will hit the big screens in a year. Its filming at the expense of foreign investment is scheduled for December-January, and the premiere will take place on the anniversary of the tragedy.

The film also includes the rescue scene of the famous Ukrainian composer, Shevchenko Prize winner Igor Poklad, who during the events of the film was in his house in Vorzel.

The one who plays the role of the main antagonist is already known – he is the actor Vyacheslav Dovzhenko.

“After learning in April what happened in Bucha and other Ukrainian cities that were occupied, it became clear that the tragedy of the Ukrainian people should be known to the whole world. We believe that the implementation of this project will help Ukraine which will attract the attention of the international community and encourage to increase economic and military aid in the future,” said Alexander Shchur.

Recall that the Ukrainian actress and TV presenter Daria Tregubova received a prestigious award at the 79th Venice Film Festival. She won the Women in cinema award, awarded by Italian film journalists.
