The Crown temporarily stopped filming after the death of Queen Elizabeth II

After the death of Queen Elizabeth II this Thursday, the popular series NetflixThe Crown, which is based on the life of the British monarch, will temporarily stop filming its sixth season “out of respect” for the late monarch.

“‘Crownis a love letter to her, and I have nothing to add yet, only silence and respect. I hope we also stop filming for a while out of respect,” said series executive producer Peter Morgan in a brief statement released to the Hollywood trade press.

Inspired by historical events, this series dramatizes the life of Queen Elizabeth II and the political and personal events that defined her 70-year reign.

Platform Netflix has the rights to the series, which began airing six years ago, has already won 21 Emmy awards, and will focus on the legacy of Elizabeth II in the 21st century in its new episode, scheduled for November.

“Crown” in mourning for Queen Elizabeth II

Through a message from Morgan, also the screenwriter of The Queen (2006), it is now reported that the sixth season entry “Crowninterrupted indefinitely to mourn the death of Elizabeth II at the age of 96.

Netflix contemplated the scene of the death of the Queen of England until today since the launch of this production in 2016, when, on the occasion of the premiere, Stephen Daldry, director of several chapters of the series, assured that they would pay “tribute” to him if necessary.

“None of us knows when this time will come, but it would be right and appropriate to show respect to the Queen. It would be a simple tribute and show of respect. She is a global figure, and this is what we should do, Daldry said at the time.
